I did it! I completed NaKniSweMo. Yay me! So do you wanna see how I did it...

Yes, that's Jess...(Sorry about the fuzzy pics. That's what you get when you try to take pictures of yourself with a self-timer.)

So the story of Jess...I finished seaming Jess on Sunday and the rest of the week was spent in vain trying to crochet button covers. ARGH!!! Those darn button covers vexed me to no end. I have not given up on them totally. I plan to add them soon, but I just need some space right now.

Mods: Well, I know it doesn't look like it, but I actually made the sleeves longer than the pattern suggested. So I think Jess is going to make a another trip to the blocking board.

Overall, I think I like Jess. It turned out a little differently than I imagined though. I think it all comes down to my bust. I am wonder if this jacket would just be just a tad cuter on a flater chest. Is that silly? But it does have its saving graces. The basketweave stitch allows for a fitted look, so that's great. And the pattern is simple and quick. So quick in fast that I FINISHED THIS SWEATER IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. Aww, yeah.

Oh yeah, Jess is soooo blocking.

We are right on track for NaKniSweMo. I think I might come out of this weekend with a new cardy...

A week with Jess...

It is my first week of NaKniSweMo and I have been getting to know a cardy named Jess...I think she and I are going to be fast friends. How fast? Well, I already have a back done.

The pattern calls for a dk weight yarn knit double throughout. So I picked Cashsoft DK yarn in Poison from RY Classic Yarns. Poison is kind of a dark name for this lovely plum color. The basketweave pattern is really fun to knit and produces a nice elastic fabric. This make me hopeful on producing a lovely fitted jacket. We shall see what the upcoming weeks shall bring.

EDITED TO ADD: My pics of Jess are coming out WAAAY too purple. When looking at the pictures, just repeat after me, "Plum, plum, plum..."

If your sister knit a whole sweater in November, would you?

I guess the answer is "yes." Reading Erin's post about NaKniSweMo got me all inspired and stuff.

But what should I knit? Well, I purchased Jess a couple of months ago. And after seeing the brown sheep's version today, I decided that this would be a perfect November sweater. This pattern is like a Doris Day movie--full of personality, yet classic. I can't wait to go to my LYS this weekend and find some yarn.

The only thing is I am not sure that Jess has 50,000 stitches in it to knit (the ultimate goal of NaKniSweMo)...and I don't want to spend the brain power to figure it out. C'mon guys, math is hard. So I am just going on blind faith, and knitting it. I mean, isn't that what Doris Day would do?
