And just in time too. There are some autumnal afternoons ahead in dire need of a sweater like this.

I know I have said this before about other FOs, but I really mean it this time...this might be on of my favorite knits ever. Is it its cable-y goodness? Is it the delicious earthy tweed yarn with rainbow flecks? Is it the fact that this is the best seaming job I have done to date? I really can't say...all I know is that this is love.

Here are the stats:

Pattern: Central Park Hoodie
Source: knitscene
Yarn: Peace Fleece worsted in grass roots
Size: 36" bust
Mods: There is a button option for the hoodie, but I decided against that. I figured I would wear it open most of the time anyway, so why bother. I think it works.

This was a good little pattern. It was easy, straightforward, and didn't get boring. Actually, it was quite a fast knit. However, I let myself get distracted by work and other things which really slowed down CPH's progress.

PS - It is so frustrating to get an FO pic with decent light when it gets so dark so early. And it's not like I am going to be able to wake up early to take pics. Darn you Daylight Savings Time, darn you!!

Yeah, I said it...I made that really obviously bad pun. So, what of it?

This past week I have been slowly working on Central Park Hoodie, and this is what I got so far...

That my friends, is both fronts, the back and, especially, the hood. So it is coming along, no?

When I finished the second front, I just couldn't wait. I immediately seamed the shoulders by doing the three-needle bind-off. And once you seam some shoulders, a hood is not that far behind. But give me strength, I still have some sleeves to do. Onward!

You guys are the best. Because of your suggestions, Ms. Marigold is officially an FO. So thank you, thank you for all your help.

I finished the back of my Central Park Hoodie last night.

So far I am loving the peace fleece. I made the back of the hoodie a little longer than the pattern suggested. And instead of "binding off 6 stitches at the beginning of each row" as the pattern said for the shoulders, I decided to do some short-row shaping--I am keeping these shoulder stitches live so I can do a three-needle bind off for the shoulder seams.

Check out this cable-ly goodness...

Do you see all the little fun flecks. They are delicious, no?

I am so pleased, I might just go cast on for the fronts right now...

Lookie what was delivered to my house yesterday...

I was browsing kpixie when I stumbled on this peace fleece worsted yarn in grass roots.

Isn't it funny? I have been searching for weeks for the right yarn for the Central Park Hoodie. I kept going back and forth, back and forth...Do I want blue? Do I want teal? Blue is really fun. But teal is really cool. After all that I picked brown. But when the brown has beautiful flecks of reds, greens, and blues, the choice was simple really.

There's a KAL going for this project, so if you are as enamored of this hoodie as I am you should join in on the fun. Click the button in my sidebar for more information.
